Facebook Marketing – Just the Basics please
The starting point for your presence on Facebook is your profile page. Your profile page is what the public sees. Basically a landing page, this is the page you have the most control over. It is the place where you connect with your friends, sharing links to news, blogs, photos and videos.
One of the most common habits of Facebook users is browsing the profile pages of friends and people they want to learn more about. The first thing that your visitor should notice is your picture. Make sure that your Facebook picture is a close-up and looks like you. After all, you want your friends to know that they have found YOU, and not someone else with the same or similar name.
The next thing that your friends will notice is the banner (or cover) at the top of page. It’s a good idea to choose a cover picture that shows, at a glance, who you are and what you are all about. Add some text inside the banner… maybe your name, what your business is, maybe your tagline.
Click the About tab under your picture and in the next screen fill in all blanks; Work and Education, About You, Relationships, Family, Basic Info, and Contact Information. Pay close attention to the Work box and link to your business page so that your friends have easy access to your business.
By connecting to hundreds of friends, colleagues, clients and associates on Facebook, you can drive a TON of traffic to your profile page. It is important to take advantage of that huge opportunity and share your passions, contact info and websites.
